Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

According to REACH Annex IX, column 2, further testing of long-term toxicity to fish is not required as the chemical safety assessment does not indicate a risk to the aquatic environment. Risk assessment of reaction mass of DIPE and 2-methylpent-2-ene showed that PEC/PNEC < 1 (see CSR chapter 10). Water solubility of the reaction mass is 2.828 ± 0.405 g/L at 20°C. All relevant PEC are much smaller than 1/100 of water solubility, i.e. much smaller than 28 mg/L (see CSR chapter 10). Therefore, no risk to the aquatic environment is indicated.

Additional information

According to REACH Annex IX, column 2, further testing of long-term toxicity to fish is not required as the chemical safety assessment does not indicate a risk to the aquatic environment. According to TGD IR & CSR (2008, R7b, p.50) a risk is indicated if PEC/PNEC > 1 or log Kow > 3 and PEC > 1/100 of water solubility.
