First-aid measures

Description of first aid measures

General advice : Never give anything by mouth to an unconscious person. No artificial respiration, mouth-to-mouth or mouth to nose. Use suitable instruments/apparatus. Call a physician immediately.

Inhalation : If breathed in, move person into fresh air. Oxygen or artificial respiration if needed. Call a physician immediately.

Skin contact : In case of skin contact Take off contaminated clothing and shoes immediately. Wash off immediately with soap and plenty of water. Cool skin rapidly with cold water after contact with molten material. Do not attempt to remove material from the skin. Call a physician immediately.

Eye contact : In case of eye contact Rinse thoroughly with plenty of water for at least 15 minutes and consult a physician. If easy to do, remove contact lens, if worn.

Ingestion : If swallowed Drink 1 or 2 glasses of water. Induce vomiting, but only if victim is fully conscious. Call a physician immediately.

Most important symptoms and effects, both acute and delayed

Symptoms : Irritation, Cough, Shortness of breath, Discomfort, Rash, Swelling of tissue, Redness, Excessive lachrymation, Blurred vision

Indication of any immediate medical attention and special treatment needed

Fire-fighting measures

Extinguishing media

Suitable extinguishing media : Carbon dioxide (CO2), Water spray, Foam, Dry chemical

Special hazards arising from the substance or mixture

Specific hazards during firefighting : Do not allow run-off from fire fighting to enter drains or water courses. Dust may form explosive mixture in air.

Hazardous decomposition products Carbon monoxide Nitrogen oxides (NOx)

Advice for firefighters

Special protective equipment for firefighters : Wear self-contained breathing apparatus and protective suit.

Further information : Evacuate personnel to safe areas. Cool containers/tanks with water spray.

: Fire residues and contaminated fire extinguishing water must be disposed of in accordance with local regulations. Collect contaminated fire extinguishing water separately. This must not be discharged into drains. Do not allow run-off from fire fighting to enter drains or water courses.

Accidental release measures

Personal precautions, protective equipment and emergency procedures

Personal precautions : Evacuate personnel to safe areas. Use personal protective equipment.

Environmental precautions

Environmental precautions : Avoid subsoil penetration. Do not let product enter drains. If the product contaminates rivers and lakes or drains inform respective authorities.

Methods and materials for containment and cleaning up

Methods for cleaning up : Dam up. Allow to solidify, use mechanical handling equipment. Pick up and arrange disposal without creating dust. Flush away traces with water and detergent.

Other information : Dispose of in accordance with local regulations.

Handling and storage

Precautions for safe handling

Advice on safe handling : Avoid dust formation in confined areas. Use only in area provided with appropriate exhaust ventilation.

Advice on protection against fire and explosion: Normal measures for preventive fire protection. Dust may form explosive mixture in air.

Conditions for safe storage, including any incompatibilities

Requirements for storage areas and containers: Keep containers tightly closed in a dry, cool and well-ventilated place. Keep away from heat. Containers which are opened must be carefully resealed and kept upright to prevent leakage.

Advice on common storage: Keep away from: Oxidizing agents

Other data : No decomposition if stored normally.

Specific end use(s): no data available

Exposure controls / personal protection

Control parameters

If sub-section is empty then no values are applicable.

Exposure controls

Engineering measures : Ensure adequate ventilation, especially in confined areas.

Eye protection : Tightly fitting safety goggles Face-shield

Hand protection : Material: Nitrile rubber

Glove length: Long sleeve gloves

Protective gloves complying with EN 374.

Skin and body protection : Complete suit protecting against chemicals. Solvent-resistant apron Boots If there is a potential for contact with hot/molten material wear heat resistant clothing and footwear.

Hygiene measures : Regular cleaning of equipment, work area and clothing. Keep away from food, drink and animal feedingstuffs. Wash contaminated clothing before re-use. Wash hands before breaks and immediately after handling the product. Keep

working clothes separately. Wear suitable gloves and eye/face protection. Avoid contact with skin, eyes and clothing. When using do not eat, drink or smoke.

Respiratory protection : When workers are facing concentrations above the exposure limit they must use appropriate certified respirators.

Stability and reactivity

Reactivity : Decomposes on heating.

Chemical stability : Stable at normal temperatures and storage conditions.

Possibility of hazardous reactions: no data available

Conditions to avoid : To avoid thermal decomposition, do not overheat.

Incompatible materials : Strong oxidizing agents

Humid air

Hazardous decomposition products: Nitrogen oxides (NOx)

Carbon monoxide

Disposal considerations

Waste treatment methods

Product : Do not dispose of waste into sewer. Dispose of as special waste in compliance with local and national regulations. Can be incinerated, when in compliance with local regulations.

Contaminated packaging : If recycling is not practicable, dispose of in compliance with local regulations.
