Key result
Test procedure:
burning rate test: preliminary screening test
Remarks on result:
substance does not ignite and propagate combustion either by burning with flame or smouldering along 200 mm of the powder train within the 2 minutes test period

Findings:

Safety Pre-Test:

A small amount of the test item was heated on a magnesia groove with a gas burner. Glowing was observed. The test item showed no signs of ignition.

Preliminary screening test:

The test item was heated with the flame of a teclu burner. Glowing was observed during heating. No ignition occurred within two minutes.

Interpretation of results:
GHS criteria not met
Conclusions:
FAT 36038/J should be considered as not highly flammable.
Executive summary:

This study was performed in order to determine the flammability of test item FAT 36038/J. The guideline followed was EU Method A.10. During the preliminary screening test, the substance does not ignite and propagate combustion on burning with flame of a teclu burner along 200 mm of the powder train within the 2 minutes test period. Hence, the test item FAT 36038/J should be considered as not highly flammable.

Description of key information

This study was performed in order to determine the flammability of test item FAT 36038/J. The guideline followed was EU Method A.10. During the preliminary screening test, thesubstance does not ignite and propagate combustion on burning with flame of a teclu burner along 200 mm of the powder train within the 2 minutes test period. Hence, the test item FAT 36038/J should be considered as not highly flammable.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Flammability:
non flammable

Additional information

Justification for classification or non-classification

FAT 36038/J was considered as not highly flammable based on the results of a flammability study, hence it does not warrant classification in accordance to Regulation (EC) No. 1272/2008.
