Additional information

There is sufficient information available on the toxicity of Methyl 4-hydroxybenzoate to algae from studies that were carried out to acceptable methods. The key parameter chosen was obtained from the most reliable and best documented source.

The toxicity to aquatic algae (Pseudokirchneriella subcapitata) was determined in a study based on a ISO guideline. The EC50 after 72 hours was determined to be 91 mg/L.
