Description of key information

Boiling point of DETU (1,3-diethyl-2-thiourea) is in the range 200-230°C

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Boiling point at 101 325 Pa:
215 °C

Additional information

Three QSAR softwares are used, ACD Lab, MPWIN - CERI Japan, and SPARC, they give respectively 146.2 till 192.2°C , 199.2 -217.0°C and 229.4 till 270.3°C for DETU Boiling point. As a consequence, we could consider the BP of DETU in the range: 145 -270°C.

As a refinement, a measure was made according to OECD 103, and the boiling point of DETU (1,3 -diethyl thiourea) was found in the range of 200 -230°C at 1023hPa.

As a conclusion, we consider that boiling point of DETU (1,3 -diethyl-2 -thiourea) is about 215°C.
