By applying weight of evidence approach the target chemical found to be readily biodegradable with 50% to 71.199 % percentage degradation. Thus it is concluded that sodium 2-(2-dodecyloxyethoxy) ethyl sulphate is readily biodegradable in water.

Biodegradation in water and sediment :

The half life period of sodium 2-(2-dodecyloxyethoxy)ethyl sulphate in water is 38 days and based on this value it can be concluded that the chemical is not persistent in water medium since the half life is less than the threshold of 40 days (to qualify the chemical as persistent). Also the diffusion percentage of sodium 2-(2-dodecyloxyethoxy)ethyl sulphate in water medium is 15 %. This coupled with the dilution of water shall result in ready biodegradabililty of the chemical.

By applying weight of evidence approach the target chemical found to be not persistent with half life 68 to 75 days which does not exceeds the threshold (120 days) of not being persistent in soil. Thus it is concluded that sodium 2-(2-dodecyloxyethoxy) ethyl sulphate is biodegradable in soil.
