Description of key information

Freely soluble in acetone and ethanol
Slightly soluble in benzene
Practically insoluble in diehtyl ether

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

Several solubilities of ferrous chloride (FeCl2) were found in the literature. The salt is reported freely soluble in acetone and ethanol, slightly soluble in benzene but practically insoluble in diethyl ether (O'Neil 2001, Merck Index 13th edition). Comparable solubilities may be considered for other iron salts soluble in water.
