Any other information on results incl. tables
No increase in the number of his+ revertants was observed. No bacteriotoxic effect (reduced his- background growth) was observed. The test substance was completely soluble; no precipitation was observed at any concentration tested.
Applicant's summary and conclusion
- Conclusions:
- Interpretation of results (migrated information):
negative - Executive summary:
The substance, ammonium sulphate, was not mutagenic in an Ames test in accordance with OECD TG 471 using Salmonella typhimurium strains TA 1535, TA 100, TA 1537, and TA 98at doses of 20 - 5000 µg/plate. Standard plate test and preincubation test was carried out both with and without metabolic activation (rat liver S-9 mix). Vehicle controls and appropriate positive controls were included. The test substance was complete soluble in the vehicle used (water). No bacteriotoxic effect was observed. The positive controls substances gave the expected results.
