Conclusions:
Under the study conditions, the substance was not considered to be irritating to the rabbit eye.
Executive summary:

A study was conducted to determine the eye irritation potential of the substance according to a method similar to OECD Guideline 405. Three New Zealand White rabbits were used in the study. After instillation of the test substance into eyes of rabbits, the irritation effects were observed at 24, 48 and 72 h. Scoring of the irritation reactions was performed according to the Draize scale. Apart from conjunctival redness in all three animals (which resolved within 72 h) and chemosis in one animal (which resolved within 48 h), no other sign of irritation could be observed. Under the study conditions, the substance was not considered to be irritating to the rabbit eye (Duerden, 1994).
