Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.
The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information
Additional information
Short-term toxicity to fish:
Weight of evidence: Experimental data on Ammonium Acetate The LC50 for Ammonium acetate is 308 mg/L.
Long-term toxicity to fish:
NOEC for Ammonim acetate is 154mg/L (15, 30 and 60 days).
Short-term toxicity to aquatic invertebrates:
Weight of evidence: The (48 h) EC50 was greater than 100 mg/L (108.81-939.66 mg/L). Read-across from experimental results on analogues Sodium Acetate, Potassium Acetate and Ammonia.
Long-term toxicity to aquatic invertebrates:
Data waiving: In accordance with column 2 of REACH Annex IX, the study does not need to be conducted since the chemical safety assessment indicates no need to investigate further the effects on aquatic organisms.
Toxicity to aquatic algae and cyanobacteria:
Weight of evidence: Read-across approach from experimental results obtained with analogues Acetic Acid, Potassium Acetate and Ammonium Sulphate. The (72 h) EC50 is calculated to be > 392.70 mg/L and NOEC is 392.70 mg/L.
Toxicity to microorganisms:
Weight of evidence: The EC50 is estimated to be between 752.95-6770 mg/L. Read-across approach from experimental data on analogues Sodium Acetate and Ammonium Propionate
