Appearance/physical state/colour
Phenylhydrazine exists as yellow to pale red-brown crystals or as a yellowish oily liquid, with a characteristic odour.
Melting point/freezing point
The freezing point was determined to be approximately 25 °C.
Boiling point
The boiling point was determined to be 234.5 °C at 1.013 mbar
Density
The relative density of the test substance was determined to be 1.0987 g/cm3 at 25 °C.
Vapour pressure
The vapour pressure of the test substance was determined to be 0.06 mbar at 20 °C, 1.2 mbar at 30 °C and 4 mbar at 50 °C.
Partition coefficient
In an experimental study the partition coefficient of the test substance was determined to a log Pow of 1.25.
Water solubility
The water solubility was determined to be 145 g/L at 25 °C and at 70 °C the test substance was completely soluble.
Flash point
The flash point was determined to be 86 °C (DIN 51758).
Auto flammability
The ignition temperature was determined to be 205 °C (DIN 51794).
Viscosity
The viscosity was determined to be 17.1 mPa s at 20 °C.
