Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

partition coefficient
Data waiving:
study scientifically not necessary / other information available
Justification for data waiving:
the study does not need to be conducted because the substance decomposes

Description of key information

In accordance with column 2 of REACH Annex VII, the study does not need to be conducted as the substance is hydrolytically unstable.

The partition coefficient of the primary amine transformation product has been presented in a separate endpoint summary for use in the CSA.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

With reference to Section 5.1.2 endpoint summary, isocyanates (i.e. m-toly isocyanate) are rapidly hydrolysed (DT50 <1h) under environmentally relevant conditions. Therefore, it is appropriate to conduct experimental testing (in the aqueous compartment) on the primary amine transformation product, in this instance, m-toluidine.
