Worker DNELs have not been derived for Pigment Red 247 because the substances or substances with a similar structure did not cause relevant toxicity in any test performed according to the information requirements.


- the LD50 of Pigment Red 247 is above 2000 mg/kg bw after single oral or dermal administration. The LC50 of Pigment Red 247 is above 5 mg/L air after single inhalation exposure. Therefore, Pigment Red 247 does not have to be classified regarding acute toxicity,


 


- Pigment Red 247 is neither irritating nor sensitizing to skin and does not have to be classified as eye or skin irritant, or as skin sensitizing, indicating that its chemical inertness and low solubility in water and n-octanol largely prevent interaction with living cells and tissues,

Therefore, no DNELs for systemic effects have been derived.


 


Pigment Red 247 does not cause irritation, corrosion or sensitization. It is considered unlikely to become bioavailable in the skin and is considered not to be classified regarding respiratory tract irritation.
