15.07.2016 – 21.07.2016
Reliability:
1 (reliable without restriction)
Rationale for reliability incl. deficiencies:
guideline study
Qualifier:
according to guideline
Guideline:
EU Method A.17 (Oxidising Properties (Solids))
Deviations:
yes

GLP compliance:
yes (incl. QA statement)
Contact with:
powdered cellulose
Duration of test (contact time):
38 s
Sample tested:
reference mixture as specified
Remarks:
60% barium nitrate with cellulose
Parameter:
maximum burning rate
Result:
0.81 mm/s
Key result
Sample tested:
test mixture as specified
Remarks:
20% test substance with cellulose
Parameter:
burning time of reaction over a distance of 200 mm
Remarks on result:
other: The reaction zone did not propagate over an initial distance of 30 mm. On basis of the result obtained from trial test, it is obvious that none of the test substance mixtures with cellulose burned all distance of 200 mm of the pile.
Interpretation of results:
GHS criteria not met
Conclusions:
On basis of the result obtained from trial test, it is obvious that none of the test substance mixtures with cellulose burned all distance of 200 mm of the pile. Thus test substance, Acid Black 26, shouldn´t be considered as a substance with oxidizing properties.
Executive summary:

The oxidizing properties of test substance, Acid Black 26, were determined.

The procedure was performed according to the Method A.17 Oxidizing properties (Solids), Council Regulation (EC) No.440/2008, published in O.J. L 142, 2008.

Based on the result obtained from trial test, it is obvious that none of the test substance mixtures with cellulose burned all distance of 200 mm of the pile. Thus test substance, Acid Black 26, shouldn´t be considered as a substance with oxidizing properties.

Description of key information
