HPLC method

Details on study design: HPLC method:
The adsorption coefficient (Koc) was initially estimated using the Log Kow of BPFDGE in order to establish the operational parameters for the HPLC system. The reverse-phase column was cyanopropyl chemically bound resins on a silica base. The mobile phase was methanol/water (55%/45% v/v). Other operational parameters were: detection wavelength, mobile phase flow rate, and injection volume. The calibration curve was based on the retention time of six different reference compounds with published Koc values. The Dead Time (to) was based on the retention time of an unretained standard. The calibration curve was calculated as the linear regression line by plotting the logarithm of the capacity factor of the reference substances as a function of their respective Koc values. The capacity factor, k, is a function of the retention time and the dead time. The adsorption coefficient of BPFDGE was estimated by interpolation of the calculated capacity factor, k, for BPFDGE on the calibration curve.

Applicant's summary and conclusion

Validity criteria fulfilled:
yes
Conclusions:
The HPLC estimated Log Koc for Bisphenol F Diglycidylether was 3.65. This suggests minimal potential to adsorb to sewage sludge and soil.
Executive summary:

Bisphenol F Diglycidylether was assessed for potential to bind to sewage sludge and soil by an O.E.C.D. Testing Guideline 121 study with GLP compliance. The HPLC estimated Log Koc for Bisphenol F Diglycidylether was 3.65 under the conditions of the study. This suggests minimal potential to adsorb to sewage sludge and soil.
