- Conclusions:
- The determination of the melting point Hatcol 3178 was performed via DSC (differential scanning calorimetry. In all runs one event was detected.
The event is endotherm and is stated as the melting point.
The results of the study should be stated as followed:
-23.62 ± 0.16 °C (249.53 ± 0.16 K).
No observations were made which might cause doubts on the validity of the study outcome.
Therefore, the result of the study is considered valid. - Executive summary:
The study was performed in order to determine the melting point or the melting range of the test item Hatcol 3178. The freezing/melting point is one of the fundamental physicochemical properties of a chemical substance. The test item was cooled from room temperature to - 65 °C and then heated again to room temperature with a defined heating rate using a differential scanning calorimeter (DSC). The heat flow and any thermal events were recorded.
The melting point was determined via DSC (differential scanning calorimetry)
The melting point was determined to be
-23.62 ± 0.16 °C (249.53 ± 0.16 K).
These values are the means of two independent determinations.
