Conclusion: Results from short-term toxicity studies with an analog substance with 2 sediment invertebrates show that DTDP does not cause toxicity at the high concentrations investigated in these tests.

The data used to characterize the sediment toxicity of di-isotridecyl phthalate (DTDP; CAS #68515 -47 -9) ester are for di-isodecyl phthalate (DIDP; CAS #68515-49-1) ester, which is an analog to DTDP. Results of studies with DIDP suggest that DTDP will not cause toxicity to sediment dwelling organisms at high levels. Therefore, because of the structural similarity between these substances and the similar biological behavior of high molecular weight phthalate esters in general, data for the analog can be used to characterize the biological effects of DTDP for this endpoint. The sediment toxicity dataset includes results for three species, Chironomus tentans, Hyalella azteca, and Rana arvalis.
