Additional information

Acute tests on all three trophic levels were performed to examine the aquatic toxicity of N-(2-ethylhexyl)naphthalen-2-amine.

Daphnia magna turned out to be the most sensitive species revealing an EC50 (48h) of 0.19 mg/L. Effects of N-(2-ethylhexyl)naphthalen-2-amine towards fish were found at a LC50 >100 mg/l while for the green algae effects were found in the same range as the daphnid with an ErC50 (72h) of 0.24 mg/L.

Thus, N-(2-ethylhexyl)naphthalen-2-amine is considered acutely very toxic for aquatic organisms, especially algae and invertebrates.
