First-aid measures

Description of first aid measures

Skin

Immediately remove all contaminated clothing. Rinse skin with water / shower. If skin irritation occurs, get medical attention. Launder contaminated clothing before reuse.

Eyes

Rinse cautiously with water for several minutes. Remove contact lenses, if present and easy to do. Continue rinsing. Immediately call a poison center or doctor.

Inhaled

Remove victim to fresh air and keep at rest in a position comfortable for breathing. If breathing is labored, administer oxygen. If breathing has stopped, apply artificial respiration. Call a poison center or doctor if exposed or you feel unwell.

Swallowed

DO NOT INDUCE VOMITING. Get immediate medical attention. Call a poison center or doctor if exposed or you feel unwell.

Advice for first-aid providers

When providing first aid always protect yourself against exposure to chemicals or blood born diseases by wearing gloves, masks and eye protection. If providing CPR use mouthpieces, resuscitation bags, pocket masks or other ventilation devices. After providing first aid wash your exposed skin with soap and water.

Most important symptoms and effects, both acute and delayed

See section “Toxicological Information”.

Indication of any immediate medical attention and special treatment needed

If exposed or concerned: Get medical attention.

Fire-fighting measures

Fire Fighting Measures

Extinguishing Media

CO2, dry chemical, or foam. Water can be used to cool and protect exposed material.

Special hazards arising from substance or mixture

Toxic fumes, gases or vapors may evolve on burning. Vapors may be heavier than air and may travel along the ground to a distant ignition source and flash back. Container may rupture on heating. See section 10 for additional information.

Advice for firefighters

Wear full protective firegear including self-containing breathing apparatus operated in the positive pressure mode with full facepiece, coat, pants, gloves and boots.

Water may be ineffective fighting fires.

Accidental release measures

Accidental Release Measures

Personal precautions, protective equipment and emergency procedures

May form explosive mixtures with air. Immediately evacuate all personnel from danger area. Personal protective equipment must be worn. Ventilate area if spilled in a confined space or other poorly ventilated area. Eliminate all sources of heat, sparks, pilot lights, static electricity and open flames. Material on floor may be slippery.

Environmental precautions

Take precautions to avoid release to the environment. Prevent from entering into soil, ditches, sewers, waterways and/or groundwater.

Methods and material for containment and cleaning up

Pick up free liquid for recycle and/or disposal if can be accomplished safely with explosion proof equipment. Residual liquid can be absorbed on inert material.

Wash spill area with soap and water.

Reference to other sections

See sections 8 and 13 for additional information.

Handling and storage

Handling and Storage

Precautions for safe handling

Keep away from ignition sources such as heat, sparks and open flame. No smoking. Keep containers closed when not in use. Do not discharge into drains or the environment, dispose to an authorized waste collection point. Use appropriate containment to avoid environmental contamination. When handling, do not eat, drink, or smoke Avoid drinking, tasting, swallowing or ingesting this product. Avoid breathing dust, fume, gas, mist, vapors or spray. Ground / bond container and receiving equipment. Use explosion-proof equipment. Take precautionary measures against static discharge. Use only non-sparking tools. Use only outdoors or in a well-ventilated area. Wash thoroughly after handling. Contaminated work clothing should not be allowed out of the workplace. Launder contaminated clothing before reuse. Empty containers retain material residue. Do not cut, weld, braze, solder, drill, grind or expose containers to heat, flame, spark or other sources of ignition. Dispose of packaging or containers in accordance with local, regional, national and international regulations.

Pumping Temperature

Not determined.

Maximum Loading Temperature

Not determined.

Conditions for safe storage, including any incompatibilites

Do not store near potential sources of ignition. Isolated outside storage is preferred. Inside storage area should be in a flammable liquids cabinet or storage area. Take precautions to avoid release to the environment. Store in dry area, 0 - 100 deg F (-18 - 38 deg C). Keep container tightly closed. Do not store in open, unlabeled or mislabeled containers. Store locked up. See section 10 for incompatible materials.

Other Exposure Limits

None known.

Exposure controls

Material should be handled in enclosed vessels and equipment, in which case general (mechanical) room ventilation should be sufficient. Local exhaust ventilation should be used at points where dust, mist, vapors or gases can escape into the room air. Additional ventilation or exhaust may be required to maintain air concentrations below recommended exposure limits. Use explosion proof equipment.

Eye/face protection

Chemical goggles or faceshield.

Skin protection

Viton. Nitrile. Gloves should always be inspected before each use and discarded if they show tears, pinholes, or signs of wear. Use good industrial hygiene practices to avoid skin contact. If contact with the material may occur wear chemically protective gloves.

Gloves, coveralls, apron, boots as necessary to minimize contact Wear either a chemical protective suit or apron when potential for contact with material exists.

Use chemically protective boots when necessary to avoid contaminating shoes. Do not wear rings, watches or similar apparel that could entrap the material and cause a skin reaction. Launder contaminated clothing before reuse.

Respiratory Protection

Use respirator with a combination organic vapor and high efficiency filter cartridge if recommended exposure limit is exceeded. Use self-contained breathing apparatus for entry into confined space, for other poorly ventilated areas and for large spill clean-up sites. Consult with an industrial hygienist to determine the appropriate respiratory protection for your specific use of this material. A respiratory protection program compliant with all applicable regulations must be followed whenever workplace conditions require the use of a respirator.

Hygiene Measures

Wash thoroughly after handling this product. Do not eat, drink or smoke when using this product.

Environmental exposure controls

See section “Accidental Release Measures” for details.
