First-aid measures

GENERAL

Move the exposed person to fresh air at once. In the event of breathing difficulties, administer artificial respiration

or oxygen. Contact physician.

INHALATION

Fresh air. Immediately consult a doctor.

SKIN CONTACT

Promptly flush contaminated skin with water. Promptly remove clothing if soaked through and flush the skin with

water. Contact physician if irritation persists.

EYE CONTACT

Promptly wash eyes with plenty of water while lifting the eye lids. Continue to rinse for at least 15 minutes. Contact physician.

INGESTION

DO NOT induce vomiting. Get medical attention immediately. Do not give victim anything to drink if he is unconscious. Promptly get affected personnel to drink large volumes of water to dilute the swallowed chemical.

Fire-fighting measures

EXTINGUISHING MEDIA

Can be extinguished with water mist, powder, foam, sand or carbon dioxide.

IMPROPER EXTINGUISHING MEDIA

Do not use a direct water jet that could spread the fire.

FIRE AND EXPLOSION HAZARDS

The product is combustible. May develop highly toxic or corrosive fumes if heated.

PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT FOR FIRE FIGHTERS

General: Evacuate all personnel, use protective equipment for fire fighting. Use a portable breathing apparatus when the product is involved in a fire.

Accidental release measures

PERSONAL PRECAUTIONS

Use only in well-ventilated areas. Use special protective clothing. Regular protection may not be safe.

SAFETY ACTIONS TO PROTECT EXTERNAL ENVIRONMENT

Prevent discharge into the sewage system or the immediate environment.

METHODS FOR CLEANING UP

Collect the spillage with suitable absorption agents, sand or earth and incinerate or dump in accordance with the relevant regulations. Collect in marked containers and deliver to approved depot. Flush with plenty of water to clean spillage area.

Handling and storage

HANDLING ADVICE

Avoid contact with the skin, eyes and respiratory tract. Wear appropriate clothing to prevent reasonably probable skin contact. Respirator with combined filter or breathing apparatus may be necessary. Avoid inhalation of vapours.

STORAGE

Keep in cool, dry, ventilated storage and closed containers.

Exposure controls / personal protection

EXPOSURE CONTROL

Provide adequate general and local exhaust ventilation. Remove contaminated clothes and wash them before reusing. Wash at the end of each work shift and before eating, smoking and using the toilet. Contaminated clothing to be placed in closed container until disposal or decontamination. Warn cleaning personnel of chemicals hazardous properties. Eye wash facilities and emergency shower must be available when handling this product.

RESPIRATORY PROTECTION

At work in confined or poorly ventilated spaces, respiratory protection with air supply must be used. If ventilation is insufficient, suitable respiratory protection must be applied. If ventilation is insufficient, use a respirator with A filter.

EYE PROTECTION

Use approved safety goggles or face shield. Wear approved, tight fitting safety glasses where splashing is probable.

HAND PROTECTION

Chemical resistant gloves required for prolonged or repeated contact.

PROTECTIVE CLOTHING

Use suitable protective clothing as protection against splashing and contamination.

Stability and reactivity

HAZARDOUS DECOMPOSITION PRODUCTS

Carbon dioxide is formed when heated or in a fire. Nitrous gases (toxic if inhaled) may be formed on heating or in a fire.

Disposal considerations

GENERAL REGULATIONS

This material and its container must be disposed of as hazardous waste. Dump or destroy in accordance with official recommendations and applicable legislation. Collect and reclaim or dispose in sealed containers in licensed waste.
