Description of key information

Degree of biodegradability was conducted in compliance with GLP and in accordance with OECD Guideline 301 D. On the basis of results of the study, the biodegradation-% was 35 after 28 d exposure. The substance is not considered as readily biodegradable.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Biodegradation in water:
under test conditions no biodegradation observed

Additional information

Ready biodegradability of Calcium 4-chloro-2-(5-hydroxy-3-methyl-1-(3- sulfonatophenyl)pyrazol-4-ylazo)-5-methylbenzenesulfonate was measured by conducting a study in accordance with GLP and OECD Guideline 301 D. This study was considered as reliable with no restrictions and hence used as a key value for hazard assessment and classification and labeling of the substance.

Test was performed to assess the ready biodegradability of the test substance by exposing it to 28 days under controlled environmental conditions with reference substance Acetic acid and sodium salt. No information was available on the test concentration of the substance.

Under the conditions of the key study, the test substance was not found to be readily biodegradable. The biodegradation-% was 35 after 28 d exposure.
