No data were available on DEA acetate, but, as result of a readily biodegradability test, TEA acetate is considered inherently biodegradable. TEA acetate was biodegraded significantly (50 to 63%) during the 28-day test period (Desmares-Koopmans, 2010). Moreover, direct or indirect exposure of DEA acetate to water, sediment or soil is unlikely in the whole cycle life of the substance as risk management measures are implemented.
