Description of key information
According to OECED Guideline 110 all particles with a mean diameter less than 100 μm have a mass fraction of 10.26 % and no particles less than 4 µm were detected.
The MMAD (Mass Median Aerodynamic Diameter <100 μm) has a value of 123.5 μm as cubical volume and 123.8 µm as spherical volume.
Additional information
All particles with a mean diameter less than 100 μm have a mass fraction of 10.26 % and no particles less than 4 µm were detected. The particles <100 µm have a mean value of 44 µm based on mass. The MMAD (Mass Median Aerodynamic Diameter of particles <100 μm) has a value of 123.5 μm as cubical volume and 123.8 µm as spherical volume. The difference between mean mass value and MMAD is explained by the form of particles. This sieve fraction contains particles which are longer in one specific direction than in other directions. This observation is described by the (aspect ratio of 7.78).
The Median diameter corresponds to Mass media aerodynamic diameter and is determined by calculation of the cubical volume. Within the fraction <100 µm the volume of the particles with a high aspect ratio (long and narrow) is bigger than the one with a low aspect ratio (rather round). This causes that the median diameter described by cubical volume is greater than 100 µm.
