Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

EL50 (72h) > 100 mg/L / EL10 (72h) >= 100 mg/L (nominal, loading rate) for Scenedesmus subspicatus (OECD 201, limit test)

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

One study investigating the toxicity of Dipropylheptylcarbonate (CAS No. 1238449-42-7) to freshwater algae is available. The study was conducted under static conditions and according to GLP and OECD guideline 201 using Scenedesmus suspicatus as test organism (BASF, 2012). A 100 mg/L loading rate WSF was applied in a limit test. No significant growth rate inhibition was observed in the treatment relative to the control during a test period of 72 h. Thus, the EL50 (48h) is determined to be > 100 mg/L and the EL10 (72h) is determined to be ≥ 100 mg/L based on the nominal concentration.
