Registration Dossier

Data platform availability banner - registered substances factsheets

Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Administrative data

First-aid measures

Emergency measure - Inhalation: Move to fresh air. Treat symptomatically. Get medical

attention if symptoms occur.

Emergency measure - Eyes: Any material that is in the eye should be washed out

immediately with water. Get medical attention if symptoms

occur.

Emergency measure - Skin: After contact with skin, wash immediately with plenty of

soap and water. Get medical attention if symptoms persist.

Emergency measure - Ingestion: Seek medical attention

Fire-fighting measures

Recommended extinguishing agent: Use appropriate agent  e.g. water and carbon dioxide for

adjacent fire.

Product arising from burning: Hazardous decomposition products include oxides of sulphur

and oxides of nitrogen.

Product determined by test: N

Protective equipment: Wear self-contained breathing apparatus and protective

clothing.

Accidental release measures

Emergency measures in case of spillage: Collect up and put in a suitable container. Avoid generating

dust. Clean surface thoroughly to remove residual

contamination.

Handling and storage

Handling: Avoid breathing dust at concentrations greater than the

exposure limits. Avoid contact with eyes and prolonged or

repeated contact with skin. Use with adequate ventilation.

Wash thoroughly after handling.

Storage: Keep away from sources of ignition. Keep from contact with

oxidizing materials. Store at cool conditions (5 - 30

degrees C). Keep container closed.

Packaging of the substance and or preparation: The substance will be imported in plastic bags inside of

cardboard cartons.

Stability and reactivity

Danger other than fire: None reported.

Chemical reaction with water: Experience in use and structure activity relationships

indicate that the test substance is not hazardous in contact

with water or humid air.

Dust explosion: There are no data or experience indicating this substance

presents a dust explosion hazard; however no testing has

been conducted to characterize its dust explosibility

properties. Fines of this substance, like those of many

organic dusts, may be capable of forming explosible dust

clouds in air. Minimize dust generation and accumulation.

Keep away from sources of ignition. Use adequate

ventilation.

Dust explosion determined by test: N

Disposal considerations

Industry - Possibility of recovery/recycling: It is not practical to recover or recycle the substance.

Industry - Possibility of neutralisation: It is not practical to neutralize the substance

Industry - Possibility of destruction: controlled discharge: Not recommended.

Industry - Possibility of destruction - incineration: A temperature of 1000 degrees C is expected to be sufficient

to destroy the substance. Combustion will produce oxide of

nitrogen and oxides of sulphur. Stack gases should be

scrubbed because noxious fumes (eg carbon and nitrogen

oxides and chlorine containing compounds) could be formed.

Industry - Possibility of destruction - water purification: Computer model (SIMPLETREAT) program predicts 93% removal in

water purification plants, predominately by adsorption to

sludge.

Industry - Possibility of destruction - other: None

Public at large - Possibility of recovery/recycling: Not applicable, the substance will not enter the public

domain.

Public at large - Possibility of neutralisation: Not applicable
