Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Additional information

No experimental studies investigating the phototransformation in air of 1,3-butylene diacetate (CAS 1117-31-3) are available. Results from AOPWIN v1.92 indicate that the substance is susceptibe to indirect photodegradation in air (Müller, 2011). The estimated half-life for the reaction with OH-radicals is 52.60 h (24 h day; OH-concentration: 0.5E+06 OH/cm³). However, 1,3-butylene diacetate is not expected to be present in the atmosphere in relevant amounts based on the and low volatilisation potential indicated by a Henry’s Law Constant of < 1 Pa m³/mole and the vapour pressure of 16.61 Pa.
