Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Materials and methods

Test guideline
Qualifier:
no guideline followed
Principles of method if other than guideline:
The melting point of AlASP was determined by thermoanalytical methods in a TGA 8501e from Mettler with simultaneous DTA.
GLP compliance:
no
Type of method:
thermal analysis

Test material

Constituent 1
Details on test material:
The sample of AlASP provided for testing bears the identification 1917-68-00.

Results and discussion

Melting / freezing point
Melting / freezing pt.:
> 650 °C

Any other information on results incl. tables

The TGA shows a loss of 47% below 170°C attributed to water. Between 170 and 600°C there is a non-specific weight loss of 8%.

The DTA does not show any endothermal event indicative of melt.

A visual inspection of the material after TGA shows a free-flowing, white powder.

Applicant's summary and conclusion

Conclusions:
AlASP does not undergo any first order transition below 650 °C that may be attributed to melt.
