Description of key information

The lowest reliable short-term toxicity to terrestrial arthropods-midge (Tanytarsus dissimilis) which is reported by Lamb, D.S., and G.C. Bailey, 1983after a 96 hours exposure to aluminium sulphate was 506 mg/kg soil dw (LC50).
This information will be take into account forsoil dwellingarthropods toxicity for the derivation of PNEC.

The lowest reliable long-term toxicity to terrestrial arthropods-midge (Tanytarsus dissimilis) which is reported by Lamb, D.S., and G.C. Bailey, 1983after a 55 days exposure to aluminium sulphate was 63 mg/kg soil dw (LC50).
This information will be take into account for soil dwelling arthropods toxicity for the derivation of PNEC.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Short-term EC50 or LC50 for soil dwelling arthropods:
506 mg/kg soil dw
Long-term EC10, LC10 or NOEC for soil dwelling arthropods:
12.6 mg/kg soil dw
