Results and discussion

Flammable solids
Test procedure:
burning time (test type not further specified)
Remarks:
or specified in description of method (migrated information)
Burning time:
7 s
Remarks on result:
other: no significant burning was observed in the preliminary test, see details below

Any other information on results incl. tables

In contact with the flame of the gas burner, the test substance glowed, emitted orange sparks, smouldered and turned into a charred residue. After removal of the ignition source, the flame extinguished after 7 seconds but no propagation of combustion of the test substance was observed.

Applicant's summary and conclusion

Interpretation of results:
other: not highly flammable
Conclusions:
The preliminary screening test was performed for the determination of the flammability of E-BW102.
No propagation of combustion of the test substance along 200 mm length of the pile within 2 or 4 minutes was observed. According to the guidelines, performance of the burning rate test is not required. Based on the results obtained, the test substance is considered 'not highly flammable'.
