Description of key information

An in vivo skin irritation and an in vivo eye irration study in rabbits are available for the test substance, performed according to OECD and EU guidelines as well as GLP principles .

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Skin irritation / corrosion

Endpoint conclusion
Endpoint conclusion:
no adverse effect observed (not irritating)

Eye irritation

Endpoint conclusion
Endpoint conclusion:
adverse effect observed (irritating)

Additional information

In an in vivo skin irritation study in rabbits with the test substance, no skin irritation was observed.

In an in vivo eye irritation study in rabbits with the test substance, slight eye irritation was observed. Irritation included redness of conjunctivae (mean scores 1 -2) and chemosis (mean scores 0.3 -1).

Based on these results the test substance does not have to be classified and has no obligatory labelling requirement for eye and skin irritation.

Effects on eye irritation: slightly irritating

Justification for classification or non-classification

Based on the results of in vivo skin and eye irritation studies in rabbits, classification for skin and eye irritation according to the CLP Regulation 1272/2008 and the Dangerous Substance Directive 67/548/EC is not necessary.
