Description of key information

No effects could be observed in the range of water solubility, oleamide is not harmful to aquatic invertebrates.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

One OECD 202 test with oleamide is availabe (Neri, 2010). The results show that after 48 hours exposure to the test compound, up to a nominal concentration of 100 mg/L, no immobilization was observed on Daphnia magna. Additionally, one study according to the OECD 202 investigating the acute of the structural related erucamide to Daphnia magna was available. No immobilisation or other negative effects were observed in any of the daphnids exposed to the test substance up to the highest attainable concentration tested of 0.20 mg/L.

Oleamide as well as the structural related erucamide and stearmide shows not toxicity in the range of water solubility.
