Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

The self-ignition temperature is above 400 °C.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Autoflammability / Self-ignition temperature at 101 325 Pa:
400 °C

Additional information

The self-ignition temperature was determined according to Directive 84/449/EEC, Method A16 under GLP condition. This data is taken from one of the four testing reports provided by ECHA. All the reports show that an exothermic effect was caused by decomposition between 235 and 270 °C. The maximum temperature observed was 398 °C. Since no self-ignition takes place below 400 °C, the self-ignition temperature should be above 400 °C.
