Based on flash point (9°C) and boiling point (115 °C), the substance is a highly flammable liquid.
Based on experience in handling and use and the chemical structure, pyrophoricity and flammability on contact with water are not to be expected.
Justification for classification or non-classification
Based on flash point (9°C) and boiling point (116 °C), the substance is considered to be highly flammable liquid and vapour. According to CLP classification criteria, the substance needs to be classified as Flam liquid Cat.2. According to the Directive 67/548/EEC, the substance needs to be classified as highly flammable, R11.
Based on experience in handling and use and the chemical structure, pyrophoricity and flammability on contact with water are not to be expected.
