Diethylaminopropylamine (DEAPA) has been found to be slightly harmful to fish (LC50_96h of 146.6 mg/L) and to microorganisms ( EC50_17h of 100.5 mg/L). In addition, DEAPA can be considered as harmful to invertebrates (EC50_48h of 30.16 mg/L) and to algae (ErC50_72h of 34 mg/L). Nevertheless, when the test solutions of DEAPA were neutralized, no effect was observed at the highest concentration tested (464 mg/L) in fish, EC50 was determined to be 7 g/L in algae, and no effect up to 1000 mg/L was shown in microorganisms. These results suggest that the toxicity of DEAPA is related to the increase of the medium pH but not to a specific mode of toxic action. QSAR data was added for fulfil the chronic endpoints. The lowest value for fish is NOEC = 31.132 mg/L and for invertebrates NOEC = 2.010 mg/L. These QSAR obtained by ECOSAR and QSAR toolbox are considered reliable.
