Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

No acute toxic effects within the range of water solubility. With high probability acutely not harmful to aquatic invertebrates.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

The acute toxicity to aquatic invertebrates has been tested in a GLP guideline study according to OECD 202 including analytical monitoring (Brixham Environmental Laboratory,1996). The effect of the test substance was only determined at one concentration (nominal concentration of 120 mg/L, measured concentration 5.2 mg/L). The NOEC and the EC50 after 48 h were calculated to be above 5.2 mg/L (measured, centrifuged test concentrations). Because of salting out of the test substance due to the presence of calcium (236 mg/L) or similar cations in the test media undissolved test material settled to the base of the test vessels during the exposure period. Therefore, the solubility of the test substance in the test media was markedly reduced from its solubility in distilled water. However, a saturated solution has been tested and no toxic effects were observed at concentration well above the solubility (5.2 mg/L) of the chemical in the test media. Hence, the test substance is with high probability acutely not harmful to aquatic invertebrates.
