Additional information

FC-770 is a volatile substance of low water solubility and high Henry's Law constant. It is expected to reside in the atmospheric compartment based on volatility and registered uses that would release FC-770 solely to air. It is not expected to partition from the atmosphere to terrestrial or aquatic compartments. Its degradation pathway is expected to be direct and indirect photolysis in the upper atmosphere, with a lifetime of 1600-4000 years based on a weight of evidence argument. We have proposed to waive testing of hydrolysis based on extremely low water solubility, and hydrolysis is not a relevant degradation process in the environment due to non-presence of FC-770 in aquatic systems.
