Description of key information

The water solubility of Spectrace MD-810 Marker (Solvent Free) was attempted using the generator column method. Under the experimental conditions presented, the mean water solubility for Spectrace MD-810 Marker (Solvent Free) was less than 0.500 µg/L..

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Water solubility:
0.5 µg/L
at the temperature of:
20 °C

Additional information

The purpose of this study was to experimentally determine the water solubility of Spectrace® MD-810 Marker (Solvent Free) (Lot No. RWS-2-43).

The water solubility of the test substance was determined at a temperature of 20 ± 0.1ºC. The generator column was prepared for the definitive test by evaporating a solution of the test substance (1.0% W/V) in tetrahydrofuran (THF) onto Chromosorb WHP support material followed by packing the coated support material into a clean column. The test consisted or generating an aqueous solute solution of the test substance in an aqueous buffered solution by pumping the water through the generator column packed with the solid support material coated with the test substance. The measured concentration of test substance in the saturated aqueous solute solution eluted from the column represented the water solubility at the test temperature.
