From the results there was slight time dependence of surface tension after transfer to the measuring vessel. The mean of the values from 15 to 30 minutes was determined.

Overall mean calibration corrected surface tension = 49.5 mN/m

Harkins-Jordan corrected value = 46.5 mN/m

Conclusions:
According to EU A5 criteria, as the result is below the threshold value of 60 mN/m, the substance is considered to have surface-active potential under the experimental conditions.
Executive summary:

The surface tension of the test substance was measured under GLP according to OECD 115/EU A5 guidelines, OECD harmonised ring method.

Two replicates were performed, at 90 % of the saturation solubility, and the mean of the consistent values was corrected with calibration factor from water.

 

The surface tension of the test solution was found to be 46.5 mN/m (at 20°C).

Experimental surface tension on a ca 90% saturated solution.

According to EU A5 criteria, as the result is below the threshold value of 60 mN/m, the substance is considered to have surface-active potential under the experimental conditions. However, since the structure is not characteristic of a true surfactant, and it is not the intended use of the substance (i.e. not a desired property), this conclusion should be taken with caution.
