Additional information

The following data was obtained for Similar Substance 01. It is expected that the Target Substance will present similar biodegradation behaviour in water. Justification for the use of a read-across approach is provided in Section 13 of IUCLID.

Ready biodegradation

The test item was tested for its ready biodegradability potential according to the OECD guideline 301 E. The test item was incubated for 28 days in a 3Llaboratory plant with activated sludge with predominantly domestic sewage (Wupperverband).Within 28 days, a degradation rate of 0% was determined. The test item is considered to be "Not Readily Biodegradable". The reference compound aniline showed 100% degradation after 28 days.

Inherent biodegradation

The substance was tested for inherent biodegradability according to the OECD guideline 302 B. The test item was incubated for 28 days in a basin biology with an inoculum of activated sludge. The determination of DOC showed a degradation of 38 % after 28 days. For the positive control (with reference substance) the biodegradation was 100 % after 7 days. Therefore, the test item is not inherently biodegradable.
