Conclusions:
Based on the results obtained in the study it is concluded that the boiling point of trans-2,3-Dibromo-2-Butene-1,4-Diol is 256.03 °C at 92.39 kPa atmospheric pressure.
Executive summary:

Samples of the test item and a reference material were subjected to same temperature programme.

The difference in the energy input necessary to maintain identical temperature in the test item and

the reference material was recorded. When the sample undergoes transitions involving a change in

enthalpy (endothermic on boiling), that change was indicated by a departure from baseline of heat

flow record. The boling point was determined with the help of thermogram. The midpoint of the

endothermic peak was considered as boiling point of test item. Duplicate determinations were made

and mean of two samples was taken as boling point of test item.

The boiling points of two samples of test item were found within the accuracy of Differential

Scanning Calorimetric Method (± 0.5 K).

Based on the results obtained in the study it is concluded that the boiling point of trans-2,3-

Dibromo-2-Butene-1,4-Diol is 256.03 °C at 92.39 kPa atmospheric pressure.
