2 (reliable with restrictions)
Rationale for reliability incl. deficiencies:
comparable to guideline study with acceptable restrictions
Qualifier:
according to guideline
Guideline:
OECD Guideline 102 (Melting point / Melting Range)
GLP compliance:
no
Other quality assurance:
other: ISO 9001:2008
Type of method:
differential scanning calorimetry
Key result
Atm. press.:
1 013 hPa
Remarks on result:
other: A glass transition was observed from about -137°C but no melting point was detected. See attached thermograph.
Conclusions:
No melting temperature was observed for the test substance but a glass transition temperature from about -137°C at 1013 hPa was detected using a relevant test method and in compliance with a known quality system (ISO 9001:2008). The result is considered to be reliable.

Description of key information

Melting temperature: no melting temperature observed (DSC method)

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Melting / freezing point at 101 325 Pa:
-20 °C

Additional information

In a DSC study conducted in accordance with OECD Test Guideline 102 and in compliance with a known quality system ISO 9001:2008, a glass transition temperature from about -137°C at 1013 hPa was obtained for the substance. The melting/freezing point is considered to be <-20°C at 1013 hPa. The result is considered to be reliable.
