Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

No biodegradation data are available for "Reaction products of cyclododeca-1,5,9-triene and dinitrogen monoxide , distillation overheads" itself.

However, while the component CAS 4904 -61 -4 showed no biodegradation in a study comparable to a closed bottle test, main component EC 701 -295 -5 attained a maximum degree of biodegradation 92 ±7% CO2/ThCO2 (mean ±SD) after an exposure period of 28 days. The degree of biodegradation at the end of the ten-day window was approximately 71 ±7% CO2/ThCO2 (mean ±SD). Hence, the required pass level for ready biodegradability in accordance to the OECD Guideline 301B i.e., at least 60% of the theoretical CO2 production must be attained within 10 days of the degradation exceeding 10% within the 28-day period of the test was accomplished.

However, since CAS 4904 -61 -4 showed no biodegradation, the whole Reaction product cannot be considered as biodegradable.
