Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Administrative data

Endpoint:
surface tension
Data waiving:
study scientifically not necessary / other information available
Justification for data waiving:
the study does not need to be conducted because water solubility is below 1 mg/L at 20°C
Justification for type of information:
The surface tension test was not carried out due to the low water solubility of the test substance. The OECD 115 guideline states that the test solution should be at a concentration of 90% saturation solubility or 1g/L which would not be possible with the low solubility. The guideline also states that substances with a water solubility lower than 1 mg/L need not be tested.

Results and discussion

Applicant's summary and conclusion

Conclusions:
The surface tension of the test substance at a concentration of [VALUE] [mg/l / g/l] in aqueous solution was found to be [VALUE] mN/m at [TEMPERATURE] °C, under the conditions of the test.
Executive summary:

In this guideline (OECD 115) study, [conducted with GLP certification], the surface tension of the test substance at a concentration of [VALUE] [mg/l / g/l] in aqueous solution was found to be [VALUE] mN/m at [TEMPERATURE] °C.
