Executive summary:

The acute toxicity to Zebra fish was determined following the test guideline C.1 in accordance with Council Directive 92/69/EEC. Following exposure for 96 hours to groups of 10 fish at nominal concentrations of 0.8mg/L, 1.1mg/L, 1.6mg/L, 2.3mg/L 3.3mg/L, 4.7mg/L and a control containing synthetic water, an arithmetic mean measured LC0 was determined to be 0.95mgL and the LC100 was determined to be 1.9mg/L. The LC50 was determined to be 1.34mg/L (geometric mean of LC0 and LC100).

Additional information

The acute toxicity to Zebra fish was determined in a semi-static test design with daily renewal of the test media. Following exposure for 96 hours to groups of 10 fish at nominal concentrations of 0.8mg/L, 1.1mg/L, 1.6mg/L, 2.3mg/L 3.3mg/L, 4.7mg/L and a control containing synthetic water, no mortality was observed at the nominal concentration of 3.3mg/L while 100% mortality was observed at 4.7mg/L. Analysis was performed on newly prepared media and media after 24 hours exposure. The arithmetic mean measured concentrations corresponding to the LC0 and LC100 were 0.95 and 1.9 mg/L respectively. The LC50 was determined to be 1.34mg/L (geometric mean of LC0 and LC100).
