A stock solution of the test substance should be prepared in n-octanol pre-saturated with water. Because of a low solubility of the test substance in this medium, the stock solution was prepared in water pre-saturated with n-octanol.

This deviation has no effect on the determination of log Pow of the test substance.

There were no other deviations from study plan or guidelines during the study.
Conclusions:
Partition coefficient (log P) of the test substance, Acid Black 227, determined by shake-flask method is:log Pow = -1.13 ± 0.22 (pH 7.77, 23°C)
Executive summary:

The partition coefficient of the test substance, Acid Black 227, was determined.

For determination of partition coefficient was used the shake-flask method.

The test was performed according to the shake-flask method (OECD Test Guideline 107, Partition Coefficient (n-octanol/water): Shake Flask Method, Adopted 27 July 1995).

Partition coefficient (log P) of the test substance, Acid Black 227, determined by shake-flask method is:

log Pow = -1.13 ± 0.22 (pH 7.77, 23°C)

Description of key information
