Description of key information

Appearance:

On the basis of physical observation the chemical was observed to be liquid in appearance.

Melting point:

Study was conducted to determine the melting point of test chemical. Melting point of test chemical was determined to be < 10°C

Boiling point:

Study was conducted to determine boiling point of test chemical. Boiling point of test chemical determined to be 103°C.

Density:

The density of test substance was determined following OECD guideline OECD 109. The density of the test substance was determined to be 1.1  gm/cm3at 20 °C .

Particle Size Distribution:

The study does not need to be conducted because the substance is marketed or used in a non solid or granular form

Vapor Pressure:

MPBPVP v1.43 was used to estimate the vapor pressure of test chemical. The estimated vapour pressure of test chemical  at 25°C was1.34E-012 Pa.

Partition Coefficient:

KOWWIN v1.68 was used to estimate the octanol water partition coefficient of test chemical. The estimated log Pow of test chemical was 4.04.

Water Solubility:

WSKOW v1.42 was used to estimate the water solubility of test chemical. The estimated water solubility of test chemical at 25°C was 0.844 mg/l. This value suggests that test chemical is slightly soluble in water.

Surface tension:

Study was conducted to determine surface tension of test chemical. Surface tension of test chemical determined to be 54.9 mN/m

Flash point:

The flash point of test chemical was calculated to be > 60°C. Based on criteria mentioned in CLP regulation the substance was considered to be non flammable.

Autoflammability:

Test chemical did not catch fire on being exposed to air at room temperature of 27°C . Thus test chemical considered to be not auto-flammable.

Flammability:

Test chemical does not indicate any ignition when the flame of bunsen burner having temperature of approximately 950°C is brought in contact with it. Thus it can be concluded that test chemical is not flammable at high temperature.

Explosiveness:

The study does not need to be conducted because there are no chemical groups present in the molecule which are associated with explosive properties

Oxidising properties:

The study does not need to be conducted because there are no chemical groups present in the molecule which are associated with oxidising properties and hence, the classification procedure does not need to be applied.
