The result from the preliminary test indicated that the HPLC method was suitable for determination of partition coefficient for this test item.

Due to the high partition coefficient of the sample and that of the reference standards used, the aqueous portion of the mobile phase was lowered slightly to below the 25% stated in the method guidelines in order to elute the reference standards and sample within a reasonable timeframe. As the result is reported as a limit value this was considered not to impact the result.

Under the conditions of the study, the partition coefficient of the test item has been determined to be greater than 2.51 x 10^9, log10 Pow >9.4.
