Registration Dossier

Data platform availability banner - registered substances factsheets

Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

First-aid measures

Remove the affected person to the fresh air and place in a resting position. Seek medical advice immediately and
present the safety data sheet.
In case of eye contact: Rinse out thoroughly with large quantities of water. If complaints persist, seek medical advice.
In case of contact to skin: Wash off immediately with soap and water.
Ingestion: Seek medical advice.

Fire-fighting measures

Suitable extinguishing media: extinguishing measures to suit surroundings
Product is compatible with standard fire-fighting agents.
alcohol-resistant foam
dry powder
water spray jet

Unsuitable extinguishing media : Full water jet, High pressure inert gas, e.g. carbon dioxide jet.

In case of fires, hazardous combustion gases are formed:
Carbon monoxide (CO)
Carbon dioxide (CO2)
Sulphurous oxides (SOx)
Nitrogen oxides (NOx)
Under certain conditions of combustion traces of other toxic substances cannot be excluded. Exposure to decomposition products may be a hazard to health.

Do not inhale explosion and/or combustion gases. Use self-contained breathing apparatus.
Fire residues and contaminated firefighting water must be disposed of in accordance with the local regulations.

Accidental release measures

Use personal protective clothing. Avoid contact with skin and eyes. Do not allow entry to drains, water courses or soil
Contain contaminated water/firefighting water. Take up mechanically. Avoid raising dust. Clean contaminated floors and objects thoroughly, observing environmental regulations. When picked up, treat material as prescribed under heading "Disposal". Containers in which spilt substance has been collected must be adequately labelled.

Handling and storage

Handling: The product should be handled under strictly controlled conditions according to Art 18(4).
Provide good ventilation of working area (local exhaust ventilation if necessary). Avoid the formation and deposition of dust.
Provide exhaust ventilation if dust is formed. Observe the general rules of industrial fire protection. In principle, with organic products which are -intentionally or unintentionally- in powdered form, the danger of a dust explosion should be kept in mind. Take precautionary measures against electrostatic charges - earthing necessary during loading operations.
Keep container tightly closed in a well-ventilated place. Protect from heat and direct sunlight.
Do not store or transport together with foodstuffs

Exposure controls / personal protection

Dust must be extracted directly at the point of origin.
In case of dust formation, use a fine dust face mask. Suitable mask with particle filter P2 (European Norm 143)
Suitable hand protection: Nitrile rubber gloves. Butyl rubber gloves.
With solid dry substances permeation is not to be expected, therefore the breakthrough-time for this protective glove has not been measured.
Gloves should be discarded and replaced if there is any indication of degradation or chemical breakthrough.
Please observe the instructions regarding permeability and breakthrough time which are provided by the supplier of the gloves. Also take into consideration the specific local conditions under which the product is used, such as the danger of cuts, abrasion, and the contact time.
Follow the skin protection plan.

Eye protection: Safety glasses with side-shields conforming to EN166
Skin and body protection: Long sleeved clothing.
Wear as appropriate: Lightweight protective clothing. Suitable: Protective clothing Category III, type 5 - Particle-tight, Disposable suit
Choose body protection according to the amount and concentration of the dangerous substance at the work place.

Hygiene measures: Do not eat, drink or smoke during work time.
Remove soiled or soaked clothing immediately and clean thoroughly before using again.
Garments that cannot be cleaned must be destroyed (burnt).
Keep away from foodstuffs and beverages.
Clean hands and face during work intervals and after work
Avoid contact of the substance.

Protective measures: Do not inhale dust
Avoid contact with eyes and skin

Do not allow entry to drains, water courses or soil.
Contain contaminated water/firefighting water.

Stability and reactivity

Stable under normal storage conditions. No dangereous reactions known. The danger of dust explosions should be kept in mind.

Disposal considerations

In a suitable special-waste incineration plant in observance of the official regulations and in consultation with the operator.
