Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Endpoint:
appearance / physical state / colour
Type of information:
experimental study
Adequacy of study:
key study
Study period:
15-18 August 2017
Reliability:
1 (reliable without restriction)
Rationale for reliability incl. deficiencies:
other:
Justification for type of information:
Data come from the description of the test substance in the GLP reports on other physico-chemical properties. No guideline is required according to REACh TGD. The substance is considered to be adequately characterised. Therefore full validation applies.
Qualifier:
no guideline required
Principles of method if other than guideline:
Visual observation
GLP compliance:
yes (incl. QA statement)
Remarks:
inspected on 13 and 14 October 2014 / signed on 08 April 2015
Physical state at 20°C and 1013 hPa:
liquid
Key result
Form:
liquid: viscous
Remarks:
Extreme high viscous hardly flowable, very sticky liquid, with a ropy consistency
Colour:
clear yellow
Substance type:
organic

During the determination of density of the substance, the test item was not flowable at ambient temperature and could only be injected through a one way syringe with very high expenditure of energy. However, when the test item was stored in a heating chamber at 60°C, it became flowable. Therefore, we noted that the test item is flowable at 60°C.

Conclusions:
Extreme high viscous hardly flowable, very sticky, clear yellow liquid, with a ropy consistency
Executive summary:

The substance was tested for another physico-chemical property. A description of the sample is provided in the report as a extreme high viscous, hardly flow able, very sticky, clear yellow liquid, with a ropy consistency.

Description of key information

The test substance is a extreme high viscous hardly flowable, very sticky, clear yellow liquid, with a ropy consistency at ambient temperature and atmospheric pressure.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Physical state at 20°C and 1013 hPa:
liquid

Additional information

Data come from the description of the test substance in GLP report on physico-chemical property of the substance.

That is considered as a key study. The result is retained as key data.

Note that according to flowability test performed during the relative density determination (see endpoint 4.4, Laus,2017), it was observed that the test item was flowable at approximately 60°C.
