Description of key information

The test substance is a grey to brown coloured solid.

The test item shows no melting of crystalline subcomponents up to 160°C. Determination of a melting point by differential scanning calometry (EU method A.1) was not possible as thermal decomposition started at 160°C.

A boiling temperature and/or thermal decomposition starting at 151°C at 1018 mBar was determined by differential scanning calometry (EU method A.2).

Relative density was determined as 1.4005 at 20°C by the pycnometer method according to OECD guideline 109.

In granulometry measurements according to DIN 66165 a mass median aerodynamic diameter of particles of 148µmwas measured by sieving.10th- and 90th percentiles were determined as 71µm and 468 µm respectively in this study.

A vapour pressure of <=14.0 Pa at 20°C and <= 220.0 Pa at 50° was measured by the dynamic method according to EU method A.4.

The octanol/water partition coefficient (log Pow) ,measured in accordance with OECD guideline 107 by the shake flask method,is 0.83 at 23°C and a pH-value of 6.83-6.86.

A water solubility of 544.8 g/L at 20°C and a pH-value of 0.23 was determined according to OECD guideline 105 by using the flask method.

The surface tension at 20°C of a 1.0 g/L aqueous solution is <= 58.0 mN/m, measured by using the ring method according to EU method A.5.The test substance should therefore be regarded as a surface-active material.

A flash point of 228°C at 1013.0 mBar was determined by the closed cup method using a Setaflash apparatus (EU-method A.9).

A relative self-ignition temperature of 350°C was measured according to EU method A.16.

The test substance is not highly flammable based on a preliminary screening test according to EU Method A.10.It was also tested according to EU methods A.12 and A.13 and was found to be neither flammable in contact with water nor to have pryrophoric properties.

In a study to determine explosive properties according to EU method A.14 the test substance did not have explosive properties as determined by thermal and and mechanical (shock and friction) sensitivity tests.

In a preliminary test according to EU method A.17 the test substance did not have oxidising properties.
